The ranking includes 853 universities from 35 Asian countries. The universities were assessed on 18 different parameters such as excellence in research, quality of teaching, exchange of knowledge and international outreach. Five of the top-10 universities are from China. Two of Singapore’s most prestigious universities have also received top rankings. Japan and Hong Kong have also made their presence felt.
Asian Universities: Highlights
• China continues to dominate the rankings, with 5 of the top-10 places going to Chinese universities. Singapore, Japan and Hong Kong also made it to the top-10.
• Uzbekistan, Bahrain, Mongolia and Syria have joined this ranking for the first time.
• All 6 universities in Hong Kong have made it to the top-50 for the first time since 2017.
In particular, China’s University Excellence Initiative has contributed significantly to its excellent and growing performance.
