CBSE Class 12 Students Must Score Minimum 33% in Theory and Practical to Pass
What Are the New CBSE Class 12 Passing Rules in 2025?
CBSE News Desk – The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has clearly announced the passing marks criteria for Class 12 Board Exams 2025. CBSE Students from Science, Commerce, and Arts streams must follow these rules to receive their pass certificate.
According to CBSE Board, it is now mandatory to secure at least 33% marks in both theory and practical or internal assessment for every subject. This rule applies to all major and elective subjects.
If a student fails to get 33% separately in theory and practical, they will not pass the subject. CBSE also stated that students must receive grades above ‘E’ in internal assessment subjects to qualify for the CBSE final board result. If this is not followed, the CBSE board may withhold the student’s result for up to one year. So Students failing in two subjects must appear for cbse compartment exams to clear the board.
CBSE will continue using the 9-point grading scale. Grades include A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2, D1, D2, E1, and E2. CBSE will not provide any divisions or distinctions in the result. Only subject-wise grades will be shared. Students can check their CBSE Class 12 result 2025 on the official website by May 2025.
