The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB) has released an important press release regarding WAVEX 2025, a major event organized by the Government of India for startups in the media and entertainment technology sector.
Organized in collaboration with the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI), the event has broadened the eligibility criteria and extended the deadline to 21 April 2025.
This initiative is a big step towards providing a national and global platform to talented media-tech startups across the country.
Eligibility now extended to Startups started after 2016
Earlier, only startups registered in 2020 or later could apply for WAVEX 2025, but now this criterion has been changed and startups started from 2016 have also been declared eligible. This change will benefit those institutions that have demonstrated growth, innovation and stability in the past years.
The decision aims to promote wider participation, bring together experienced startups and provide a national platform to those offering industry-ready solutions.
New last date for WAVEX application
Keeping in view the wide response and requests received from startups and innovators across the country, the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting has extended the last date for application for WAVEX 2025 to 21 April 2025.

WAVEX 2025 is a flagship media-tech startup event organized by the Government of India, a part of the World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES). It aims to bring together startups, investors, technology innovators, and industry experts to accelerate innovation, shape the future of content creation, and accelerate the transformation of the media industry in the digital age.
